Kidihub project - Challenges and attempts at solutions

Kidihub.com is an on-line second-hand store for children's clothes. As a part of its expansion strategy, the owners of kidihub decided to start an R&D project that would help in creation of the new, more sophisticated service. They have (sub)contracted QED Software to help with automation of various tasks using AI/ML techniques. During the presentation we will show what kinds of challenges and problems the QED Software team has encountered while researching and developing solutions for kidihub. We will showcase the already created solutions with emphasis on the method for assessing garment measurements from photographs and underlying technologies and algorithms. The presented approach combines "classical" Image Processing with a neural network model that serves as an additional "control circuit". The method and results obtained with use of it are a basis of freshly submitted research paper.
