The goal of the talk would be to present the strategy for classification of topological 4-manifolds via Kreck’s modified surgery theory. We will also discuss some examples: Freedman’s classification of simply-connected 4-manifolds and results of Hambleton, Kreck Teichner’s results on topological 4-manifolds with finite fundamental groups.
