International Mathematics Competition 2026
At this year's IMC, our Faculty was represented by a team composed of Krzysztof Karwik, Michał Kaźmierczak, Łukasz Łopacki, and Adam Naskręcki.
The team won one First Prize, two Second Prizes, and one Honorable Mention.
Congratulations! The team was coached by Dr. Rafał Martynek.
A+ categories for Mathematics and Computer Science
Mathematics and Computer Science held at MIMUW received the highest ratings (A+) in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education's evaluation of the quality of our research for the years 2022-2025.
Three A+ categories were awarded in Mathematics across Poland (University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University, and IMPAN), and only two in Computer Science (University of Warsaw and AGH).
We extend our heartfelt congratulations and thanks to everyone who contributes to our scientific excellence with their daily work!
Mathematical and Logical Games - international finals
Congratulations to our students, staff, and alumni for their excellent performance in the international finals of the Championship of Mathematical and Logical Games.
Robert Soboński won the L2 (student) category, with Maciej Ignaciuk in second place.
In the HC (professional mathematicians) category, Łukasz Bożyk took first place.

Google DeepMind AI Masters Scholarship
Google DeepMind has funded two scholarships for students beginning a Master’s degree at the University of Warsaw, interested in AI, ML and their applications.
The Scholarship Programme aims to broaden access to education and academic development in the field of artificial intelligence and to support talented students who may face financial barriers to continuing their studies and pursuing an academic career.
Applications should be submitted by email to: deepmindfellow@mimuw.edu.pl between 12 and 23 October 2026.
Hack The Promoter!
On behalf of our Bioinformatics Science Club, we invite you to the free "Hack the Promoter" hackathlon.
The event is aimed at students interested in biological data analysis; the program includes project work on the given competition task, special lectures, and networking.
The Registration is open until the 19th of August.

We invite you to join the MAT-BIO Exchange Summer School 2026 that will take place from 31st of August to 4th of September 2026, at our Faculty.
Registration is open until the 8th of June.

Maths Beyond Limits is a mathematical programme for passionate pre-university students (aged 15-19) from all over the world.
MBL Poland 2026 will take place in Rycerka Dolna, Poland, through 6-19 of September.
