Google DeepMind AI Masters Scholarship
Google DeepMind has funded two scholarships for students beginning a Master’s degree at the University of Warsaw, interested in AI, ML and their applications.
The Scholarship Programme aims to broaden access to education and academic development in the field of artificial intelligence and to support talented students who may face financial barriers to continuing their studies and pursuing an academic career.
Applications should be submitted by email to: deepmindfellow@mimuw.edu.pl between 12 and 23 October 2026.
Hack The Promoter!
On behalf of our Bioinformatics Science Club, we invite you to the free "Hack the Promoter" hackathlon.
The event is aimed at students interested in biological data analysis; the program includes project work on the given competition task, special lectures, and networking.

Best Student Paper at the CPM conference
Arkadiusz Czarkowski received the Best Student Paper award at the CPM 2026 conference for his single-author paper Improved Bounds on the Sum of Exponents of Runs in a String. It presents the results obtained as part of his master's thesis, written under the supervision of Jakub Radoszewski.

We invite you to the XXXI National Conference on Applications of Mathematics in Biology and Medicine: International Edition.

EMYA workshop
We kindly invite you to the EMYA Workshop that will take place August 24–28, 2026 at the Banach Center of Mathematics in Będlewo, Poland.
The scientific program will run over three days, with morning lectures followed by lightning talks. The topics will cover various mathematical fields, including Algebra, Geometry, Number Theory, Topology, Analysis, Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), and Applied Mathematics.
PhD Open
The next PhD Open will take place on June 17 - June 19, when Ewa Szczurek (Helmholtz Munich and University of Warsaw) and Jan Olszewski (University of Warsaw) will give a course titled Controllable Generative AI for Biological Sequences.
Workshop on Geometric Topology 2026
The Workshop on Geometric Topology 2026 (June 7–13, 2026, MIMUW) is an international workshop dedicated to geometric and low-dimensional topology. Speakers include Erkao Bao, Maciej Starostka, Lina Liu, Alexander Doan, Raphael Zentner, Francesco Lin, and Brad Wilson. The focus is on Morse homologies, including equivariant ones, and Floer-type invariants of low-dimensional manifolds. The event program combines formal talks with daily, informal blackboard discussions."
The Chilean-Polish Mathematical Meeting
We cordilly invite you to the Chilean-Polish Mathematical Meeting - an initiative of the Polish Mathematical Society and the Sociedad de Matemática de Chile (SoMaChi).
The meeting is part of a tradition of joint mathematical meetings organised by societies bringing together mathematicians from different countries.

IMAI Macrogrant Competition
The Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Mathematics Centre (IMAI) at the University of Warsaw announces a call for proposals for Macrogrants funded under the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” (IDUB) programme.
Applications may be submitted by Organizing Committees consisting of up to four researchers affiliated with the University of Warsaw. The maximum funding available for a single project is PLN 60,000.

As part of the MIMUW colloquium, Piotr Kucharski will deliver a talk titled “Knot-quiver correspondence”. The talk will take place on May 14, 2026 at 2:30 PM in the Faculty Council Room (2180).
VJIMC
Our students performed exceptionally well at the 33rd Vojtech Jarnik International Mathematical Competition:

in Category I (1st-2nd year of study), Mikołaj Woźniak took third place, and Krzysztof Karwik placed 6th-10th.

in Category II (3rd-5th year of study), Adam Naskręcki took second place, and Łukasz Łopacki placed 19th-21st.
