Tokens

Basic informations

Tokens are awarded by the Student Office at the beginning of studies. Tokens are used for token registrations including P.E., foreign language courses, and general university courses;

The following types and number of tokens are awarded for first-cycle studies:

  • EGZ-JO - foreign language examinations, you get 2 tokens while beginning your studies,
  • LEK - foreign language courses, you get 240 tokens while beginning your studies,
  • OG - general university courses (open to all), you get 300 tokens while beginning your studies,
  • WF - PE classes - you get 90 tokens while beginning your studies,
  • POL - Polish language courses organised by the Centre of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners "POLONICUM" (240),
  • OGP - lectures for foreigners organised by the Centre of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners "POLONICUM" (180)

The following types and number of tokens are awarded for second-cycle studies

  • LEK2 - foreign language courses, you get 30 tokens while beginning your studies,
  • OG - general university courses (open to all), you get 300 tokens while beginning your studies,
  • PED - teaching qualification courses, you get 210 tokens while beginning your studies (awarded on request, to students of second cycle studies in mathematics).

A successful registration for a given course results in spending a particular amount of tokens as a "payment" for the course. If you fail to obtain credit for it, the tokens used cannot be retrieved. If you have used all tokens, but have not received credits for all courses required in your study programme, then you may apply for additional tokens (it may involve a fee); Additional tokens for PE are awarded by the Physical Education and Sports Centre (SWFIS) http://wfisport.uw.edu.pl/en/, for foreign language courses and examinations by the Centre for Foreign Language Teachinghttp://www.szjo.uw.edu.pl, and tokens for other courses (OG and PED) by the Student Office (based on application to the vice-dean for student affairs in USOSweb).
