Cucker-Smale model describes the behaviour of agents aligning their velocities according to nonlocal protocol. We consider the model posed in domains with a boundary and try to justify the mean-field limit between particle and kinetic levels. Due to the low regularity of kinetic solutions, we introduce further regularising effects which are reminiscent of the vanishing viscosity method. This allows us to control the boundary effects at the price of a more involved, stochastic description at the particle level. I will discuss the progress made so far on the topic in collaboration with J. Peszek and D., Poyato
