International Banach Prize
We cordially invite you to participate in The International Stefan Banach Prize for a Doctoral Dissertation in the Mathematical Sciences.
The goal is to promote mathematics and provide financial supports to the most talented young researches from Central and Eastern Europe, who obtained their degree between May 1, 2025 and April 30, 2026.

EMS Lecture Series on Mathematics Education
The European Mathematical Society organizes a Lecture Series on Mathematics Education bringing together experts, teachers, curriculum developers and education researchers to explore critical issues and innovative approaches in mathematics teaching.
The one-hour webinars will occur on the second Friday of each month from January to June 2026 at 7:00 PM CET. You can follow the lectures on the EMS YouTube streams page.
BrainHack Warsaw 2026
The eighth edition of Brainhack Warsaw – a three-day hackathon and mini-conference – will take place at the Faculty of Physics, UW, on April 17-19, 2026. We invite you to submit your projects involving data analysis (your own or obtained from public scientific repositories), as well as data mining or the use of language models.

Registration is open until the 13th of February.
ALGOMANET 2026
Two courses in the series of ALGOMANET will be held from June 30th to July 3rd at the Leipzig University:
• Matija Bucić (University of Vienna): Sublinear expander graphs
• Jinyoung Park (Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences NYU): Asymptotic enumeration via graph containers and entropy.
PhD students from MIM UW (both maths and CS) are welcome to participate.
The courses can be used as an equivalent of a PhDOpen lecture.
Registration is open until the 20th of April.

Call for applications: scientific scholarship in the National Science Centre project led by Dr Tomáš Masařík
We are announcing a competition for a research scholarship for a student in Sonata research project "Fair Problems and Diverse Solutions in Parameterized Complexity” funded by the National Science Centre, Poland (2021/43/D/ST6/03312).
