90 mobile nodes arrived

2012-04-23
We have just received a batch of 90 mobile sensor nodes. We are also finishing the software that will allow the mobile nodes to communicate with the 110 static ones.

100+ nodes deployed

2012-03-12
We have finished deploying the first batch of 110 nodes. Currently, we are conducting long-term connectivity experiments and waiting for additional 90 mobile nodes.

First nodes deployed

2012-02-06
We have just deployed 11 nodes in room 4280 on the third floor. 99 nodes are left to be deployed in 9 rooms during the next weeks.

110 sensor nodes arrived

2011 Recruitment

We have 2 scholarschips for Master's students. Each scholarship is 1000 PLN per month for 12 or 24 months. Depending on the results and the available funds, a student participating in the team may be also reimbursed a trip to an international conference on wireless sensor networks or to Maarten's group in Amsterdam.

To apply, please, submit the following documents to Konrad Iwanicki. The documents can be written in Polish or English.

  • a short resume (up to 2 A4 pages), which should emphasize your scientific and professional background, interests, achievements, and English language fluency;
  • a short motivation letter (up to 1 A4 page, 12pt font), which should explain the reason for the scholarship application (you must clearly sign and scan the letter);
  • a list of all graduate courses you intend to follow or have been following during Master's studies (more is not necessarily better);
  • a declaration in which you specify the total minimal number of hours in the first (and possibly the second year) that you are willing to dedicate solely to conducting research activities for the project (again, you must clearly sign and scan the declaration); the following limits apply:
    • the average number of hours declared per week must not exceed hmax = 40,
    • it is desirable for the average number of hours declared per week to be at least hmin = 16,
    • the maximal number of weeks declared per year must not exceed ymax = 47,
    • the total number of weeks (in the case of a two-year scholarship) must not exceed tmax = 80;
  • a certified list of grades you obtained during your studies (only if you study outside the University of Warsaw).

The documents should be submitted as PDF files in an e-mail with the following subject: “rhoRoute: Student scholarship application”.

The deadline for the applications is: Friday, July 01, 2011, 23:59 CEST.

For more information about the application and selection procedures, refer to the rules and regulations. A template of an agreement a prospective scholarship recipient signs with the Foundation for Polish Science can be obtained here.

It is also possible to participate in the project without a scholarship. However, you should apply using the regular procedures above.

If you want to learn more before applying, please, check this introductory presentation (in Polish).
