Opinion spread: exact and approximate approaches

We introduce an opinion spread model based on evolutionary game theory with players placed on a network and assigned different types. The dynamics are governed by an ergodic Markov chain and we analyse the properties of its stationary distribution. These properties change abruptly with small parameter changes, showcasing behaviour not visible in similar models, such as players coordinating only partially. We also propose a new network-sensitive variant of the mean-field approximation, obtaining much better accuracy than the standard mean-field approximation while using the same number of equations.
