Geometric measure theory (GMT) provides non-parametric models of (non-smooth) surfaces,
allowing the study of their convergence. Thus, GMT proves to be a useful tool in solving
geometric
variational problems (e.g., the Plateau problem). On the other hand, the study of
surfaces is typically
carried out by analyzing functions defined on them that reflect their geometric
information. To study
how that information is carried through the limit process, we shall investigate the
convergence of pairs
of surfaces and functions. In this talk, we will present a GMT approach to study the
convergence of such
pairs and present its compactness theorems.
