2nd Warsaw Summer School in Probability

July 3-7, 2017

The school took place from July 3rd till July 7th, 2017 at the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw. Click here for information about the first edition of the school.

Lecturers

Each of the following lecturers delivered four 90 minute lectures:

  • Nathael Gozlan (Université Paris Descartes)
      Optimal transport and concentration of measure
  • Cyril Roberto (Université Paris Ouest Nanterre la Défense)
       Ricci curvature and functional inequalities in discrete spaces
  • Wojciech Samotij (Tel Aviv University)
      The method of hypergraph containers

Additional educational lectures were given by

  • Octavio Arizmendi (Centro de Investigación Matemáticas)
      Asymptotic Freeness: A connection between free groups and random matrices (presentation)
  • Krzysztof Oleszkiewicz (University of Warsaw)
      Probabilistic inequalities on the discrete cube (presentation)
  • Joscha Prochno (University of Hull)
      Geometry of random polytopes (lecture notes)

There were also several short talks presented by young researchers (see the program page for details).
