How to get there?

Warsaw has a well functioning public transport system. This system is principally buses and trams, there is just one metro line.

From the airport to the university (the converence venue)

From the airport take bus number 175 (goes every 10 minutes) to the stop Uniwersytet (35 minutes according to the schedule). It is just next to the university gate. On the bus stop at the airport there is a vending machine selling tickets. (There is a vending machine also on some, but not all, buses with number 175). Look out for your wallet, there might be pickpockets on this particular bus line, but not on others.

You can also take a taxi: in optimal situation it should take about 20 minutes. It should cost around 40 PLN during the day, anything above 80 PLN is a rip-off. Needless to say, avoid the people whispering "taxi taxi" in the arrival hall, just go outside onto the sidewalk, where legitimate taxis are waiting.

The same bus 175 passes in the front of the central railway station (Dworzec Centralny). Go in the direction of Pl.Piłsudskiego, not to the airport.
