The cross-border cooperation of Polish geometers has been stimulated by September (or Autumn) Algebraic Geometry Schools, organized annually by Michal Szurek since 1977. Some of these one week long meetings had a form of workshops, with all participants contributing, while other were organized as series of lectures taught by experts. The schools were focused on active research subjects and were offered to graduate students and young researchers.

The financial support for the schools has been provided by Math Institute, Warsaw University, by Polish State Committee for Scientific Research (1989-2005), EAGER Research Training Network (2000-2004), Ministry of Science and Higher Education (since 2008).

• 2008: Fano manifolds and Lagrangian fibration of symplectic manifolds, teachers: Kenji Oguiso (Keio and KIAS) and Jaroslaw Wisniewski (Warsaw).
• 2007: Explicit construction of moduli and parameter spaces in Warwick, teachers: Alastair Craw (Glasgow) and Diane Maclagan (Warwick).
• 2006: Algebraic Geometry: Warsaw 1960 - 2005, a conference in honor of Andrzej Bialynicki-Birula.
• 2005: Equivariant intersection theory, , teachers: Andrea Kresch (Warwick) and Angelo Vistoli (Bologna)
• 2004: Algebraic Geometry and derived categories, teachers: Andrei Caldararu (Wisconsin), Miles Reid (Warwick).
• 2003: C+ and finite groups actions on affine spaces. Locally nilpotent derivations, teachers: Daniel Daigle (Ottawa), Gene Freudenburg (St Luis)
• 2002: Vector bundles over curves and higher dimensional varieties, and their moduli, teachers: Adrian Langer (Warsaw), Peter Newstead (Liverpool).
