Below the town of Tivoli, on peaceful hills lies the residence of Emperor Hadrian from the second century. Hadrian, who was an emperor interested in arts and culture, the residence was designed to be a park with buildings referring to his favorite works of Greek and Roman architecture, and even Egyptian. The whole thing is gigantic – starting from the area on which it stretches to the individual vaults, which as if in spite of their size and large holes punctured by a tooth of time, hold up. The huge dark clouds over us matched perfectly with these spaces.
