New York City, NY: East Village — around the world

Once the wealthy country residence of the last Dutch colony governor, but over a century ago, when the rich moved out of here, waves of immigrants settled here. Irish, Germans, Jews, and also Poles. There are Little Ukraine and Little India here. A district around the world. Perhaps this is why, the modern sculpture in the central Astor Place surprisingly rotates like a globe.
