Lucens: the castle and Holmes

(June 2018)

Lucens is a small town famous for its picturesque 13th-century castle, an underground nuclear reactor that crashed a few months after being put into operation, severely contaminating its cave, and Sherlock Holms. The famous detective settled here post factum on the occasion of the museum created in the castle by Arthur Conan Doyl’s son, and then transferred to a less honorable building when the castle passed into other private hands.
