The Białowieża Forest surprises with its details. Especially where the logging was not so extensive, and between dead spurce trees the wilderness flourishes with mixture of fallen trees and fresh and young ones. In details you can see how everything craves for existence. From an oak cut in two by a lightning, a half lives as if nothing ever happened. On the corpses of dead spurce trees mushrooms grow in big numbers. Even a small tree which lost completely its lower part of its trunk is still green because it was growing so tightly next to its bigger companion that it is able to have water from it. You just stumble every few meters over the details of live of this forest.
