Anisotropic parabolic problems and their applications
Organizers: Piotr B.Mucha
and Piotr Rybka
Description
Anisotropic parabolic problems appear in many modeling areas. We name just a few
of them, like image analysis, crystal growth, phase transition problems
and complex fluids flows. Mathematically, we have to deal with total variation
and anisotropic total variation flow, weighted mean curvature flow, when the
anisotropy function is singular, surface diffusion problems, equations with
fractional Laplacian
or anisotropic stress tensor of fluids. We are interested in the implications
of the analysis for the development of effective numerical methods. We want
to bring researchers from this areas to report the state of the art
results.
This STS will take place on one afternoon
during the 6th European Congress of Mathematics.
The exact day and time as well as the venu will be set
later by the Congress organizers. Participants are supposed to register to
the Congress.
