The Workshop on Tree Automata is funded by the AutoMathA project of the European Science Foundation
The recent interest in formal techniques for handling semi-structured data has revived the activities in the theory of tree automata. In the last decade there has been a lot of effort to find suitable automaton models and logics for, e.g., querying, type-checking, and transforming tree-shaped data. The goal of this workshop is to present and discuss current problems, techniques, and results on automata over finite trees, with an emphasis on algorithmic applications.
