King Abdullah University of Science and Technology as a Place for Studies, Work and Life
Mikhail Moshkov and Beata Zielosko
KAUST is a new research university in Saudi Arabia which offers MS and PhD degrees in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, etc.
We will explain possibilities to obtain KAUST scholarships for MS and PhD studies, describe style of life in KAUST, show photos and share with you our own experience of life and work in KAUST.
Mikhail Moshkov is professor in MCSE Division at KAUST since October 1, 2008. He earned master’s degree from Nizhni Novgorod State University, received his doctorate from Saratov State University, and habilitation from Moscow State University. From 1977 to 2004, Dr. Moshkov was with Nizhni Novgorod State University.
Since 2003 he worked in Poland in the Institute of Computer Science, University of Silesia, and since 2006 also in the Katowice Institute of Information Technologies.
His main areas of research are complexity of algorithms, discrete optimization, and machine learning. Dr. Moshkov is author or coauthor of four research monographs published by Springer.
Beata Zielosko is a Senior Research Scientist in the Mathematical and Computer Sciences and Engineering Division at KAUST since February 8, 2011.
She earned master’s degree from Univeristy of Silesia in Poland in 2002 and got a PhD in Computer Science in 2008 from this university.
Since 2009 she is working as Assistant Professor in Univeristy of Silesia, Institute of Computer Science. From 2002 to 2008 Beata Zielosko worked as Research-and-Teaching Fellow in this university.
Her research area is connected with data mining and machine learning. Dr. Zielosko is coauthor of two research monographs published by Springer.
