Announcing the Imagine Cup 2006 Online Finalists

Tens of thousands of students representing countries in
every corner of the world have stepped up to the Imagine
Cup 2006 Challenge and now the results are in! After
several months of competition over two rounds, the list of
worldwide finalists has been determined and will assemble
to compete for the title of world champion in their
respective invitational later this year in India.

Students competed against their peers in six invitationals
designed to challenge even the sharpest technical minds.
Those categories include Software Design, Algorithm,
Interface Design, IT, Short Film, and Project Hoshimi.
Finalists from each category will square off before a panel
of judges in Delhi, India, to showcase their work. This
year’s theme challenged the world’s top young
minds to "Imagine a world where technology enables us to
live healthier lives."

And the finalists are...

There are six finalists in the Algorithm category where
students put their problem solving skills to the test. The
finalists include pmnox/Poland, Grey/Russia, Psyho/Poland,
Nudelbrotsuppe/Germany, TPReal/Poland, and r1cs1/Hungary.
For these lucky few the competition will consist of a
24-hour onsite challenge against a series of very difficult

Short Film competitors participated as a team. A total of

earn the trip to the finals and a chance at being named
worldwide champion. Those are Royal Air Force/Serbia and
Montenegro, Team Lya/France, .PG/Japan, Psyho/Poland,
Atomnium/France, and Sunshineking/China. You’ll
